It’s time to return to the plains of the American West in this follow-up slot to a successful older game. Shaman’s Dream 2 picks up pretty much where the original game left off, packed chock full of mystical Native American imagery and references to the culture and beliefs of the various tribes and nations that made up the life of that region. Background
One of the criticisms of the original Shaman’s Dream was that, despite some fun concepts and decent bonuses, the art style was hopelessly outdated. That’s why we were very pleased to discover that it’s one of the first things they fixed in the Shaman’s Dream 2 slot game, which looks heaps better than the first one. Many of the symbols are the same but much higher definition and 3D, while the background is a dreamscape style prairie where fireflies flit above the tall grass and teepees stand among spears lodged in the ground. All the symbols are unique, and include everything from crossed tomahawks to wooden knives, totem poles, dream catchers, teepees and animals such as bears and eagles. There’s no music, but excellent little animations and sound effects fill the game with life, from the swaying spears and dancing fireflies in the background to the howling wolf and magical dream catcher on the reels.
Another major improvement that has been made in Shaman’s Dream 2 is the addition of some extra bonuses as well as boosting the value of the existing free spins, but the main game is more or less unchanged. It’s mercifully simple, with five reels and three rows featuring 25 pay lines to play on, and while the maximum bet is pretty low at £/€/$12.50 per spin there are plenty of multipliers to be had later on. The Native American characters are the best payers, including the woman, brave and medicine man, while the highest paying symbol, the white wolf, is the wild and pays out at 380x your stake while also doubling the value of the combinations it helps to complete. The RTP comes out at a fairly average 95.56%, so you’ll need to hit those bonuses to really make some cash.

As with the first game, Shaman’s Dream 2 features a free spins round as its main bonus game, though this time the number of spins has been beefed up to a maximum of 25 if you manage to land five dream catcher scatters on your reels. The dream catchers are also better this time around, and you’ll get an additional 12x bonus for their value when you begin the free spins, while the amount you win in the free spins will be tripled. On top of this free spins feature is an instant prize bonus, which you can get by landing two gold framed symbols on the reels as part of a combo, allowing you to win up to 20x your stake instantly.
