Winning Wizards slot game is one of the creations by the people at Microgaming. It was released in June 2014 so it has been on the scene for a while now.
Although this isn’t one of their older machines, the look of it is like one as there is no background behind the reels, instead the reels fill up the screen. Winning Wizards can be played across all desktop, mobile and tablet devices.
We are taken into the world of magic and illusion with this slot game. This is not a new genre for a slot but it really works. Whether you believe in magic or not you will be hoping to use it to your advantage to get the riches on offer in this game. Winning Wizards comes with five reels and just five paylines.
We have a mix of the regular and the themed icons in this game. The lower paying ones are the traditional playing cards 10, J, Q and K, albeit gold versions of them. The betting paying ones include a gold ring with a red gem, a spell book and the wizard himself. Winning Wizards has no Wild icons and no bonus or scatter symbols.
Despite it not being the oldest of the Microgaming slot games, there are no bonus features or icons in the Winning Wizards game, which is more than a little surprising and disappointing. Most slot games released at the time this one was would have a feature or some kind of bonus involved in it but not this one.
That means we only have the basic icons on the reels to enjoy, the best of which is the wizard who will pay 10,000x your stake if you get five of it on the one payline, but with only five paylines it goes without saying that is pretty difficult.
The RTP rating for Winning Wizards slot game is a very good one at 95.46%. This is well below the average and certainly not on the side of the player.
If you like a very simple slot game then perhaps the Winning Wizards is the one for you, but you would have to like it very simple because that is exactly what you get here. While the icons on the reels are not too bad to look at, this is one Microgaming slot that really doesn’t have much else going for it. There is no background and therefore no graphics of note to speak of and the lack of bonuses or features is a real disappointment, there is no way around that. There is the chance to win big if you can fill up a payline with five of the wizard icons but that sort of win is not going to come around very often. If you are new to slot games and looking for a slot to work out how it all works then maybe try this one. If not steer well clear.
