The Dragon Dance slot game is another of the creations brought to us by the talented people at Microgaming. The game was introduced to the market back in February 2016, making it a still a relatively recent offering.
There is a very simple look to the interface for this game and it is not too difficult to understand at all. As with most recent creations, the graphics are good, the sounds are appealing and it can be played across all desktop, mobile and tablet devices.
Gameplay
Dragon Dance is one of the truly many oriental or Chinese themed games. You could argue there are too many of them but Microgaming seems to disagree! The variance to Dragon Dance is that it is based on the Chinese New Year and has a bit of a party look and feel to it. Dragon Dance has five reels and a massive 243 paylines in all.
There is a fair mix within the icons in use in this game. The regular paying symbols are the ones we are used to seeing in the form of the 9, 10, J, Q, K and A playing cards, while the themed ones include the dragon costume, the dragon mask, a drummer, a couple of dancers and a girl with some musical instruments. The Wild icon is the Dragon Dance logo and it is the Chinese cracker logo which represents the Scatter icon.
Bonus Feature
There are two features in the Dragon Dance slot game. The first of those is the Free Spins feature which will be launched whenever you get three or more of the Chinese cracker Scatters across the reels. When this happens 15 free spins come your way. These all come with a 3x multiplier which is very welcome. This is a feature that can also be retriggered should you land more of those Scatter icons across the reels during a single free spin.
Microgaming occasionally likes to introduce a Respin feature into their slot games and that has been reserved for Dragon Dance. In this feature you get the opportunity to pay to respin any one of the reels after a normal spin has taken place. You need to pay to activate the respin with the amount to pay being reflective of the chances of a win.
RTP
The RTP rating for the Dragon Dance slot game is 96.52%, which is quite nicely beyond the average and certainly on the side of the player.

You can have your own views as to whether the Dragon Dance slot game saturates the market further with all the Chinese themed titles that are already out there or not, but analysing this game on its own merits, the party like basis of it is good and the background and graphics are strong, as you would come to expect these days. In terms of the features the game isn’t loaded with them but the two it has are pretty good. Dragon Dance didn’t wow us but at the same time there isn’t too much wrong with it, if you still have room for another Chinese variant that is!
