We can’t fault the production values NetEnt poured into Jumanji, which looks about as good as any slot we’ve ever played. The action takes place in a room seen from above in which the Jumanji board takes up the majority of the floor, with a strange diamond-shaped set of reels in the middle. The screen is constantly alive with activity. You’ll be hooked, whether it’s the zany animations that depict the features sending animals running across the board, giant plants flopping onto the reels, or just the occasional mosquito buzzing around. The low-value symbols are just the standard 9 – A in the Jumanji font, but the high-value symbols are a zoo full of animals, including Lions, Crocs and Pelicans.
The first thing to notice about Jumanji is the strange layout of the reels, and though it might look odd, it’s just five reels with an average of four rows, though there are 36 pay lines to play on where you can bet a maximum of £/€/$100 per spin. This game is all about the features, and as a result, the main game isn’t the most exciting, paying just 14x your stake for the best symbol, the lion. The RTP is high at 96.33%, so there must be something going for it, and that something is the random features!

The main bonuses in this game can occur randomly or as part of the bonuses, and all involve a cool little animation as they happen: Sticky vines grab the high-value symbols as the rest of the reels re-spin, a storm sweeps across the screen and makes two reels completely wild, monkeys shuffle all the symbols around on a spin to give you a guaranteed win, and a rhino stampede adds up to 9 extra wilds. Land up to five scatters, and the bonus game activates, giving you up to 8 rolls of the dice on the Jumanji board, in which you roll the dice and move your token around the board, trying to land on the tiles with features on them. Jumanji is undoubtedly an imaginative and fun pokie, and you can’t fault the excellent design work done to make this game come to life. The animations, sound and music are great, and the bonus features are a lot of fun. The main game could pay better, and as a high variance slot, there’s always a danger of walking away with less than you’d hoped, but you can also get rich on just a few lucky features!
