Reel Strike Slot Game Review

General Info

The Reel Strike slot game was brought to us by the team at Microgaming. This one was released into the casino landscape back in July 2016, so it is a relatively recent game of theirs.

Unlike some of the older Microgaming slots, this one has a fair bit going on in terms of the interface. The nautical-like sounds are a bit hit and miss too! Reel Strike can be played across desktop, mobile and tablet devices.

Gameplay

Reel Strike taps into the hobby of deep sea fishing and puts it into a slot game. We know Microgaming are good at this sort of thing so allow yourself a trip on the boat and out to the middle of the ocean to see what rewards can be reeled in! Reel Strike comes with five reels and 15 paylines.

The symbols in the Reel Strike game are in line with the theme with the lower paying icons being different types of fish. Fish is not an area of our expertise but there appears to be a shark and a tuna looking fish among them. Other icons include the fishing boat and the engine controls. The hooked fish is the Scatter for this game and the reel is the Wild. There is a propeller which is the bonus icon.

Bonus Feature

There is only one real feature in the Reel Strike slot game and it comes in the form of the Free Spins feature. You are looking for five of the propeller bonus icons on any active payline to launch this feature, so it isn’t the easiest to activate. When you have activated it you will be required to choose one of six boats. This will decide the amount of spins you get. This will be between two and seven. You are then given another boat to choose and this decides how big the multiplier your free spins will carry. This feature can be retriggered with five more bonus symbols.

The other thing to mention in the bonus section is the reel Wild. This can actually replace the bonus symbol so you can make a combination of the Wild and the bonus symbol to launch the free spins feature. You can’t launch that feature with five Wilds but you will be paid 10,000 coins!

RTP

The RTP rating for the Reel Strike slot game is not good. It is down at 95.01% which is way below the average and definitely not on the side of the player.

CasinoNZ Verdict

We weren’t sure what we were going to get from the Reel Strike slot game but it does have a little something to it. The sounds are a bit hit and miss and the graphics are fairly basic. In order to get decent returns from this machine you probably need all 15 paylines in use but actually when you are sat playing it, it can soon get you absorbed. This isn’t the best slot game going round but there is something about it that reels you in, if you pardon the pun!

CasinoNZ Score: 3/5
