Gameplay and Visuals
Sugar Train Xmas is a medium variance game with an RTP of 95% and is based on a standard-looking 5 reel, 25 payline layout. Like many Eyecon games it can be played for between $0.25 and $12.50 per spin, so it seems to be suitable for a wide range of players.
Eyecon are not known for their slick visuals and while Sugar Train Xmas is certainly striking to look at, with its big and brash colours, the design is a little rough around the edges. Just like the first Sugar Train slot, the sequel goes heavy on the sugar. The symbols used here include a variety of cakes, as well as doughnuts, sweets, and jelly babies. The highest paying symbol is a representation of cookies based on Christmas puddings, and if you can land five of these symbols, you stand to win a healthy payout of 5,000 coins.
The Wild in this game is the Gummy Bear icon. This swaps for all of the other symbols, though as usual, it can’t replace the Scatter. The good news is that when the Wild is included in a winning combination, your payout will be doubled. The Wild can also play a role in triggering some of the game’s bonus features, which we discuss in the next section.
Bonuses and Features
There are three bonus features with this game, and as mentioned above, the first of these is the Free Games bonus. This is triggered when you land between three and five of the Gummy Bear Wild symbols. During the Free Games round, you can play with up to 25 free spins, and as the feature can be retriggered up to 15 times, there is a maximum of 400 free spins available.
The second feature is Present Pick. This is launched when you line up three or more Scatters, which take the form of a gift box icon. You can earn prizes depending on how many Scatters you get, with each pick awarding a different prize of up to x100 your total stake.
Finally, players will appreciate the Santa’s Station feature. To the right of the reels during the main game is a green and white cane with lights on its top. Lighting up the red light will trigger the Santa’s Station round. This features a train passing below the reels and as each carriage passes, a claw descends to pluck a cookie from each. If the cookie isn’t dropped, you win a cash prize.
