Moon Princess is a Play’n GO slot which combines the play style of ways to win and cluster slots to create a slot which feels a little different. It’s a fantasy slot with anime-style graphics, randomly triggering features and a cool electronic soundtrack.

If this sounds like your thing, read on.

Gameplay and visuals

Moon Princes is a good looking slot featuring cute anime princesses each with their own power: Love, Star, and Storm. At first glance, it looks like a cluster slot, but actually, it’s more like a ways to win slot in which players win by simply lining up matching symbols in lines of three or more either horizontally or vertically anywhere on the reels. All three princesses payout between 0.3x and 10x the bet for lines of three to five symbols, while hearts and moons payout up to 3x or 2x the bet for five symbols.

Special features

In Moon Princess, each of the three princesses can randomly award features on any spin to help boost your chances of landing a winning combination. Love can make one set of symbols transform into another; Star can make up to two Wilds appear, and Storm can destroy two sets of any symbol. As players match-winning combos of princess symbols, they will also slowly fill up the Princess Trinity Meter, which grants the Free Round when full, in which the princesses take turns performing their special power. There’s also a Free Spins round which players can unlock by clearing the grid. Players can choose one of three Free Spins modes, which offer different numbers of spins, as well as the chosen girl’s powers, and more.

Mobile play

Moon Princes runs well on mobile, so players looking for slots they can enjoy on the go can give this one a try. It looks good and loads quickly on both Android and iOS devices.

Return to player

Offering an average return to player of 94.51%, Moon Princess doesn’t have the best returns in the business. For every $100 players spend playing the slot, they will win back an average of around $94.51, a little under what many slots offer these days. For players who love the game’s unique design and gameplay, this might not matter, but for others, it will no doubt be a dealbreaker. It’s also a high variance slot, and players may need to wait for Free Spins to make most of their big wins.

CasinoNZ Verdict

Moon Princess is an interesting slot with a cute anime style which will no doubt hold great appeal with some players. It’s different, and the Free Spins round can be very lucrative. However, with a low RTP and high variance, players will need to get used to spending a lot on the reels before winning much back, and for many, this might be too much to ask. It’s worth a go, but there are other anime-style slots out there with better returns.
