Flux Game Review

Not all pokies have to be Technicolour assaults on the senses, it’s also nice to chill out and play a few games without feeling like you’ve done a few rounds with Mike Tyson. That’s why we warmed to the look and feel of Flux, a game by developers Thunderkick and given a space age theme that is as fun and as relaxing as they come at the same time. Simple and engaging, but is it lucrative and exciting at the same time? Let’s take a look in our Flux slot game review.

Flux is a super modern looking pokie with good graphics that could be out of a modern video game, with a well designed crystal background and some stylish menus that you might recognise from a certain dragon hunting blockbuster game from 2011! The whole screen is in constant animation throughout the slot, and each of the symbols bob and whirl as if they’re floating in space. The symbols are all crystals of various sizes and shapes to represent the high and low value icons, and they shine and glow as you play and generate combinations. The visuals are combined with a cool futuristic soundtrack and some sparkly sound effects that really help to create a chilled out and fun atmosphere.

With five reels and three rows the Flux slot game has a pretty traditional layout, which only continues with the 15 pay lines you get to play with and the £/€/$100 maximum bet. This certainly isn’t the first jewel or crystal themed slot to show up in recent years but it aims to be the most slick, thanks to some smooth animations that make you understand why they chose the name. The highest paying symbol is the glowing star, paying 24x your stake, and while this isn’t much in the main game you’ll soon see how this can be improved on in the bonuses! If you’re still not sure, the 96.2% RTP is reassuringly above average.

While Flux isn’t exactly designed around its bonus features, you’ll definitely find it hard to make much cash without them because they’re so generous and fairly novel in the world of slots. Landing up to 5 scatters gives you the opportunity to choose from three options for how to play your bonus free spins, with the basic idea that you can have more spins and fewer benefits or fewer spins and greater benefits: Up to a whopping 48 free spins with a pays both ways mechanic, up to 36 free spins and an extra three rows, and up to 24 free spins with both. Those extra rows are massive boosts and help you create a maximum win as big as 36000x your stake, but it can be hard to imagine sacrificing a hatful of free spins to get it.

CasinoNZ Verdict

Flux is as cool and modern as pokies come, and while the pace might be a little on the slow side for some people, the inclusion of a fun and novel bonus round is all the excitement you’ll need when you’re pushing for those big wins!
